Wallenstam signs agreement in Forsåker
Published 6/9/2025Wallenstam has signed an agreement with MölnDala Fastighets AB, the municipal company which is leading the urban development of Forsåker, on the construction of rental apartments. The agreement is the result of Wallenstam's participation and involvement in the consortium that was established in 2013 to develop Forsåker. The construction of about 240 rental apartments is planned in the district.
The district has an attractive location close to the Kvarnbyn cultural heritage area and to the preserved industrial buildings in the neighborhood where the adventure and experience destination Papyr will expand. A new compulsory school and preschools are also being constructed close by, all in a green setting close to the city.
"The fact that we now have an agreement in place with Mölndala is an important and long-awaited milestone in the development of Forsåker. This marks the start of a long-term collaboration to create a new district where history is preserved and the future can take shape," says Marina Fritsche Vice CEO and Regional Director of Wallenstam.
"Wallenstam is an experienced operator, which shares our vision for the district. We have a shared history in the project and they have been an important partner in the work on producing the first zoning plan, which we have now begun to implement. We think that it is especially nice to sign agreements with developers that invest in rental apartments," says Bjarne Fjellanger, CEO MölnDala Fastighets AB.
The housing developers Kynningsrud, Nordr and Jutabo have already signed agreements to construct new homes in Forsåker.
