Kochska huset - fully let and nominated for Façade of the Year

The Kochska huset building in the heart of Gothenburg is now fully let - and at the same time is nominated for the prestigious Façade of the Year 2025 award in the renovation/restoration category. The combination of historic charm and newly renovated premises combining the best of function and aesthetics has made the building an attractive place for both office tenants and restaurant businesses.

"In Kochska huset, historical qualities, modern workplaces and social environments are combined in the middle of one of the city's most vibrant districts. We are proud to have developed a 19th century building, which in a unique way now combines classical elegance with the highest expectations of today's office environment. The nomination of the façade is also a nice recognition for everyone who contributed to the project," says Marina Fritsche, Regional Director Gothenburg and Vice CEO of Wallenstam.

The tenants that have chosen to establish here include the restaurant Collage, the consulting firm Implement Consulting Group Göteborg, the digital business studio Helo och Rebl Industries as well as Noi Arkitekter. Commercial lettings, which together comprise almost 2,000 square meters. 

The renovation of the property has been characterized by a great respect for the building's cultural history value. Among other things, 200-year-old bricks have been reused, window fittings have been recreated in their original style and details such as stone floors and door linings have been carefully restored. The project is one of three entries in the final of Façade of the Year 2025, an award that celebrates both craftmanship and sustainability.  

Kochska huset is part of the Makaregatorna district, an area that has developed into a vibrant destination with stores, restaurants and offices. Here lively main streets, charming cross streets and unexpected courtyards all meet - a popular neighborhood that attracts both businesses and visitors.
