Wallenstam expands its sustainability engagement
Published 2/10/2023Klimatarena Stockholm and Hållbart Stockholm 2030 (HS30) are two new forums in which Wallenstam has chosen to get involved in order to help accelerate the climate transition in the sector and region. All in line with the company's climate targets and sustainability focus.
Klimatarena Stockholm is a joint initiative by the Stockholm Regional Council and the County Administrative Board in Stockholm County, with financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The aim is to streamline and structure collaboration among the county's companies, municipalities and academia in order to increase the pace of the climate transition in Stockholm County.
In HS30 (Hållbart Stockholm 2030), actors from the housing development sector are brought together as part of a shared ambition to sharply reduce the industry's ecological footprint and to take social sustainability even more seriously. RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) coordinates the network and connects research and innovation to the members' work. The network also acts together in several discussions in relation to municipalities, policy matters and politics.
"It feels very positive that we now have a clear engagement in networks/forums in both regions. We are already involved in the Handshake for circular construction in Gothenburg. Even organizationally as a company, we have firm support in the business through our sustainability officers in each region," says Karin Mizgalski, Sustainability Manager at Wallenstam.
Wallenstam's sustainability work in the Stockholm/Uppsala business area is coordinated by Ida Niklasson who is also Head of the Project Development department in the region. In the Gothenburg business area, Henrik Svensson, Project Developer, has the equivalent responsibility.
