Hemköp to open with Wallenstam in Årstaberg

In late 2026, Hemköp will open a new 1,300 square meter store in Wallenstam's new construction in Årstaberg. Culinary pleasure and inspiration will be watchwords for the new store, which will offer all from carefully selected ingredients, local delicacies to well-prepared ready meals.

This summer, Wallenstam started the construction of just over 400 new apartments in Årstaberg. A new construction that, in addition to apartments, will also provide a varied range of shops and services on the ground floor, and where Hemköp is planning to open its store in late 2026.

"The store will have a fantastic location and is also in an area where we know that customers are asking for a Hemköp store. We look forward to offering a store filled with a wide range of fresh produce, inspiration and culinary pleasure in Årstaberg, which will undergo an exciting development in the time ahead," says Anders Rovér, Expansion Manager at the Hemköp chain. 

"Hemköp is a welcome addition to our new construction in Årstaberg, a block that completes the development project west of Årstaberg station. In recent years, new apartments, a preschool and a compulsory school have been added here, and soon also a new neighborhood park. This is a great development, which we are both happy and proud to be part of," says Mathias Aronsson, Regional Director Stockholm and Vice CEO of Wallenstam.

Within Hemköp, there are about 200 stores in total throughout Sweden. Hemköp, together with Tempo, is part of the Hemköp chain, which is part of Axfood AB.
