Gold for Wallenstam's headquarters
Published 10/28/2022Wallenstam's headquarters has been awarded the gold prize in the Environmental Building In-Use (Miljöbyggnad iDrift) category in the Sweden Green Building Awards 2022 competition. Both Wallenstam's headquarters and the regional office in Stockholm have been recently certified in the gold category according to the Environmental Building In-Use rating system developed by the Swedish Green Building Council (SGBC).
The motivation for the award reads as follows:
"The winning property is a good example which demonstrates that a building can be sustainable over time. Although it is an older building, it has managed to obtain a gold rating in the Environmental Building In-Use certification system with the help of investments in, for example, recycling stations and green walls. The care of the property shows in a nice way how the certification work has contributed to a better knowledge and understanding of the building."
"This is really fantastic, the certification has been a tough, intensive but also a very rewarding challenge. It also involved a really great review of the property from top to bottom," says Karin Mizgalski, Sustainability Manager at Wallenstam.
This certification is based on five areas, internal environment, health, climate impact, resources and condition, which in turn includes 14 indicators. Through effective collaboration and a clear focus on goals, the organization in just over two months succeeded in getting both offices certified in the highest category.
